Event factory to organize 5th Polish Music Festival. 2009-10-10

The Polish Music Festival is one of the most important events on the Cracow music scene. It is unanimously viewed by critics and music lovers as one of the most prestigious music projects, along with such events as the Misteria Paschalia Festival or Sacrum Profanum. The fifth, anniversary edition will take place in November in Cracow. As in previous years the event’s production has been entrusted to event-factory.

It is with great pleasure that we present another edition of this event. Our experiences in the production and organization of events and festivals are unequivocally connected with all three of the prestigious and valued international music events listed above. We co-created the Misteria Paschalia and Sacrum Profanum festivals from day one, and we are now engaged in the organization of the Polish Music Festival.

The Festival is organized by the Polish Music Association under the honorary patronage of the President of Cracow prof. Jacek Majchrowski. The festival’s main task is the presentation of selected Polish music pieces from medieval times to the modern day. The Festival incorporates various genres from solo performances to opera. During the festival, outstanding but often unknown works by Polish composers are confronted with pieces from all over the world. The biggest stars of the Word music scene have been invited to interpret these pieces. Another important role of the Festival is the promotion of young Polish artists around the world. “The sense of the festival will be fulfilled – says Paweł Orski, organizing director – if a foreign artist prepares a completely Polish program, presents it in Cracow, and then includes it permanently in his or her performances”.

There will be several concerts presented in 2009. The Festival will be inaugurated with the Szymanowski’s opera King Roger performed by the Wroclaw Opera, and completed by a performance of the 7 Gates of Jerusalem at the Saint Catharine Church in Cracow, conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki himself. The Festival will also feature a host of the brightest stars on the classical music scene. World class pianist Ivo Pogorelic, often referred to as the scandalist of classical music, The Tallis Scholars, Sirka-Liisa Kaakinen are just some of the artists who will present themselves at this year’s festival.

The organization and oversight of various kinds of events is our passion, but we also take much pleasure and satisfaction from the production of festivals, concerts and musical events, which is why it is with a great deal of excitement that we await the next edition of the Polish Music Festival.
